Hi, I’m Dr. Shai Fuchs, welcome to my clinic. I am a senior pediatric endocrinologist and research scientist at Sheba Medical Center. With extensive experience spanning Israel and Canada, I am deeply committed to providing exceptional patient care. My approach uniquely balances evidence-based medical practices, with a strong focus on patient-centeredness, ensuring that each patient receives high quality care that is tailored to their individual needs and circumstances.
I have travelled a fascinating path in medicine, moving from Israel to Canada and then back again. This journey has given me a broad perspective and a diverse set of skills that I bring to my practice every day.

International Expertise and Research
During my six years in Canada, I have gained invaluable experience as both a trainee and a staff pediatric endocrinologist. My research, particularly in the lab of Professor Daniel Drucker, has been instrumental in advancing our understanding of endocrine disorders. My work spans from studying nutritional hormones and liver organoids, to investigating fatty liver disease and establishing genetic variants of diabetes.
Clinical Experience and Teaching
My clinical experience covers all domains of pediatric endocrinology, including growth and puberty disorders, metabolic manifestations such as diabetes and prediabetes, obesity management, and thyroid gland disorders. My patient-centered approach is characterized by clear and calm communication, ensuring patients and their families are well-informed and involved in the care process.
In addition to My clinical and research roles, I am dedicated to medical education. I teache students and residents at Tel-Aviv University Medical School, and I’m involved in several European-based international programs, reflecting my commitment to nurturing future medical professionals.
